USING THIS WEBSITE IS FREE, so take your time!

Start by finding a suitor here on the x-files website. Remember though that only about 30% of voice recordings are selected to be transcribed to text. Many X-Filers prefer to remain anonymous and would make the first move by contacting YOU when you call in.

I would suggest to peruse the most recent transcriptions first. We date them accordingly for this purpose. In other words, chances are that an X-File transcription dated July 2007 are no longer "live". We deactivate X-Files that are not showing activity but the transcription might still be here on the internet.

When you have made a list of X-File numbers that you wish to contact, call the live platform, register (if you are not yet an X-Filer), and press "5" at the Main Menu. You will be asked to enter the X-number of the person you wish to contact. NB: PRESS "3" during playback of that persons adverts to immediately record your reply. After your reply is sent, you will be returned to the Main Menu. Again press "5" and enter the next X-File number...

Play around with the website SEARCH facility. Not only is it fun, but you might just find an ideal match. The search is facilitated by Google and Scroogle (Google's scraper). Over time the search option will become more effective as the X-Files ranking at Google improves.    

WHEN CALLING THE LIVE PLATFORM:

Most importantly, dial your selections ahead of voice prompts!!!

Keep a pen and paper handy to jot down your favorite options. This will help you to navigate the service very effectively during consequent calls. 

WHEN YOU ARE LOST (after you logged in and from anywhere in the system) , press 0 (zero) until you reach the main menu. 

If you're registered, enter your x-number and PIN consecutively the moment the system answers. AND immediately press 1 twice to jump straight into the chat room. or x-number, PIN, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0 to jump to the main menu.

Secondly, record an advert and include your cell or landline number or even email address.

This way other guys can contact you directly without you having to "be online" on your phone.

Shortcut from main menu: 0, 3, 1, 4 then follow prompts.

Thirdly, Activate your free new message paging.

This way you only need to call in when we notified of of new messages. The paging works like this: Your X-Files mail box will give you a ID Withheld MISSED call every time a new message arrives in your private voicemail.
